Trotskyist
[edit]Some authors are deleting 'Trotskyist' to describe the Socialist Workers Party as if it is a POV term of abuse. "Trotskyist" is not a pejorative term (unlike Trotskyite). The SWP self-identifies as a Trotskyist movement in contrast with Stalinism. SWP is affiliated with International Socialist Tendency, a collection of international Trotskyist activist groups advocating permanent revolution. See also [1]. - I don't see any problem with "Trotskyist", other than that most do not understand the term. I would object to the term "revolutionary socialist". - ClemMcGann (talk) 01:24, 18 February 2011 (UTC)
There is nothing wrong with calling a politician or an organization Trotskyist, except insofar as the term is likely to be misunderstood. What is wrong, however, is the special identification of this politician/organization for such definitive labelling. Calling Boyd-Barrett Trotskyist is on the same plane as calling Enda Kenny a free-market neo-liberal, or just a plain capitalist. Should Enda Kenny's page, and that of every other politician, be amended in this sweeping manner? There is no inherently pejorative meaning in these labels, but they do serve to close meaning. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.100.127.181 (talk) 13:08, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
